Location & Population

The Korowai people are from southeastern Papua, located in the southeastern part of western New Guinea, a province in Indonesia. More specifically, they can be found in the upper reaches of Eilanden and Becking river systems, which extend to the Casuary River and empties in the Digul.  Today they number about 3,900 people.
